Hello and welcome to Panther Science! This is a site for us to share our thoughts about the topics we cover in our science class. Although we have not actually covered any topics YET, we will be jumping right into science once school starts. Our first unit we will cover is Systems. This is a great unit because it really gets us thinking about how living things on Earth are related.
In Systems we will classify animals, build aquariums and terrariums, research different ecosystems, and much more!
Finally… just when you thought you’d seen it all! This video shows bioluminescence (making light with body chemicals) from deep sea creatures, mostly jellyfish.

This video is amazing.Some of the animals look like aliens!They must be at the very bottom of the ocean because it’s really dark! They must have to make their own light because it’s dark down there! I think it might help attract prey.

I think this viedo is good to have kids learn whats under water.Underwater animals.With there own body.To see the other anmials to warn them to say away.And the squdi that lights up is so cool!!!

I think this video must have been hard to film. They probably have to make their own light because if they didn’t have light. How would they find any thing like food.

This video was amazing. I love how the fish change color. The animals change color because the light atracts mates and food. All these animals light up so most of them have the same light or they have other lights. They make there lights when they’re hungry or in love. to get food and mates.

Wow,this video is terific!! I know witch one is a jellyfish and witch one is a squid because, a squid is alot bigger than a jellyfish. Both jellyfish and squid need light in them so they can scare other fish.

This movie is so cool ! WOW ! It shows little creatures making a special litght they give off. Watch this video and you will be tooken on a wild jurney to the underwater sea full of unique creatures. They may look like freaks but to them they are normal. Now that is why you might want to watch this.

I think that these fish make thier own lite to attract prey. What happens is that I think some of those fish can make the lite they provide dimer or briter to attack thier prey. They also probally get very littel prey down there!
